What We Do
Sharing Stories That Connect Us
Through exhibits, oral histories, photography, and community programs, we document and celebrate the narratives that shape Black culture. Our work blends visual storytelling with community engagement, creating spaces where Black joy and resilience can be seen, heard, and shared.

Hosting Workshops that Teach Us
Our workshops invite participants to engage with the skills, traditions, and creative practices that preserve culture. Whether it’s a beginner-friendly Oral History 101 session, a hands-on photography class, or an exploration in our Culture Series, each workshop blends practical learning with meaningful connection. Open to all levels, our workshops create space to learn, share, and celebrate the narratives that shape who we are.

At the heart of The Dap Project is the power of a shared story. Through interviews and authentic conversations, we capture the lived experiences, wisdom, and memories that might otherwise go unheard. These narratives — paired with striking visuals — preserve history while deepening our connection to one another.
The Dap Project Podcast is a space for conversation, reflection, and storytelling.
Each season features voices from across the community and everyday people — sharing their perspectives. Tune in for dialogue that uplifts, challenges, and connects us.
TDP Be Reading is where a love for books meets a love for community. We explore books that inspire reflection, spark conversation, and expand our understanding of culture and history.
