Leah Brown is a longtime Martha’s Vineyard resident originally from North Carolina and a respected mediator whose work centers on dialogue, understanding, and community connection. She was referred to The DAP Project by her friend and Dap Project supporter, Veta Richardson, and brings with her a strong commitment to civic engagement and collective well-being. Leah is also a member of The Cottagers, Inc., a historic philanthropic organization founded in 1956 and composed of African American female homeowners on Martha’s Vineyard dedicated to supporting charitable, educational, and community-based initiatives that strengthen life on the island. Through her presence in the exhibit, Leah reflects the power of mediation, stewardship, and community-rooted service.
