James Jennings is a writer, artist, and educator whose career reflects a deep commitment to storytelling, mentorship, and creative engagement. Originally from Hartford, Connecticut, he holds a BA in English from Emory University and an MFA from CUNY Brooklyn College. Over the years, James has served in a range of educational and mentorship roles—including teacher, dean of students, coach, and nonprofit consultant—across the New York City Department of Education and in schools on Martha’s Vineyard, including Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School. He continues to connect with communities invested in transformation, creativity, and lived expression.
